  • Avoid shouting or intimidating behaviour.

  • Dress appropriately and professionally.

  • Report any concerns or incidents promptly to the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL).

  • Use positive behaviour strategies; never use corporal punishment or humiliating treatment.

6. Relationships with Other Adults

  • Treat colleagues with courtesy and respect.

  • Share concerns constructively and confidentially with management.

  • Support a collaborative and inclusive work culture.

  • Handle disagreements professionally and away from children.

7. Confidentiality

  • Respect the confidentiality of children and families.

  • Only share information on a need-to-know basis, particularly safeguarding concerns.

  • Follow GDPR and data protection rules.

8. Health and Safety

  • Follow all health and safety procedures and risk assessments.

  • Report hazards, accidents, and injuries promptly.

  • Supervise children vigilantly during activities, transitions, and outdoor time.

9. Use of Mobile Phones and Technology

  • No photography or video recording of children on personal devices.

  • Follow the camp’s Online Safety and Technology Use Policy.

10. Alcohol, Drugs, and Smoking

  • No one may consume or be under the influence of alcohol or drugs while working.

  • Smoking and vaping are only permitted in designated areas away from children.

11. Breaches of the Code

Breaches of this Code of Conduct will be taken seriously and may result in:

  • Verbal or written warning

  • Suspension or termination of role

  • Reporting to external authorities (e.g. LADO, police) in serious cases
